Peak Pobeda

We would like you to travel in Kyrgyzstan and meet Peak Pobeda which is located in the Issyk Kul region. The peak borders with China and its height is about 7 439 m. The Peak Pobeda is considered to be the second highest mountain in the former of Soviet Union. It is worth travelling in Kyrgyzstan and get impression by such wonderful peak. In the course of a tour in Kyrgyzstan, you will find it near the Zvezdochka glacier which goes 3km vertical headwall. During your tours in Kyrgyzstan, you will be told that the Chinese name of the mountain was Tomur Peak. In the course of a tour in Kyrgyzstan, you will see that, the Peak Pobeda was originally called Khan Tenri by locals, but when Semyenov first saw the Peak Khan, he mixed up it with Khan Tenri. The Peak Pobeda was firstly climbed in 1938 by a Soviet group. Over the time, there was a next attempt in 1955 by two teams, where one was from Kazakhstan, second from the Chon tern Pass and other from Uzbekistan. Unfortunately, the Kazakh team faced with difficulties and reached only 6000 m and decided to stop their trip.  There are 12 members of a team survived and one miraculously saved.
