Kyrgyz Khan Tengri

Khan Tengri is located in the Issyk Kul region of Kyrgyzstan and creates a border with Kazakhstan. The name is translated as "Prince of Spirits" or "Ruler of the Sky". During travelling in Kyrgyzstan the peak was estimated to be 6995 m above sea level, and new researchers show it is 7010m.

The peak was confused by Semyenov Tianshansky when he was travelling in Kyrgyzstan in 1857. He confused peaks - Pobeda and Khan Tegri as he thought they are of the same shape. Travelling in Kyrgyzstan you know that the locals name the peak Kan Tau (Blood Mountain). There are 2 versions of explanations: deaths of those trying to vault the tops during tours in Kyrgyzstan, and red color of sunset. Then in 1931 the Ukrainian team made a tour in Kyrgyzstan and reached the top. Long time ago it was prohibited to travel in Kyrgyzstan until 1989. Now it is possible and guests of Kyrgyzstan have a great opportunity to make amazing photos against breath-taking views.

The peak presents the mystery of Kyrgyzstan - Enilchek Glacierand and Merzbacher lake that appears and disappears in summer in August. In the course of a tour in Kyrgyzstan you will notice the Ak Togue pass and the division of the Terskey Ala Too range. The amazing and picturesque opens at the valley of the river Karkara and Sary Zhaz.
